The Dance Corner is
going to Broadway!
Dancers
age 13 and older are invited to sign up for an
exciting and challenging day of dance at the
Broadway Dance Center in NYC on Sunday, October
16, 2011.
This is an all day event. The
group will depart New Haven around 7:45AM and
won't return until after 7 PM. Exact train times
will be announced by October 10th.

The Broadway Dance Center
The
Broadway Dance Center is a world-renowned
training ground for all types of dancers from
professional to recreational.
BDC
provides a wide variety of talented faculty and
styles. BDC is known as an open class studio.
Dancers may take classes as they wish, from
basic to professional. Most classes run 1 ½
hours and are taught by renowned professionals.
Classes
Even
though we are traveling as a group, all students
will not take the same classes. Students will
have the opportunity to choose from a variety
from classes including Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hip
Hop or Theatre Dance. I will steer all students
towards the appropriate class level.

Students will take 2- 3 classes during the
day. Price
The
price for the trip for one student taking 2
classes, including round trip MetroNorth fare
(not including lunch or snacks) will be around
$70-$80. If the schedule permits students might
be able to take an additional class. A third
class will be an additional $14. These prices
may increase or decrease based on the number of
students who sign up. The more folks we have,
the cheaper all the costs become. Please do not
remit payment yet. You will be billed, once I

Try
a Hip Hop class on Mondays
The Dance Corner invites students age 13
and up to try a Hip Hop dance class
for free during the month of October.
Miss Kristen is teaching the
class from 5:30-6:30 in the blue room in our
main studios. Current Dance Corner
students and anyone else who is interested are
welcome. Come and try this exciting and funky
style of
dance! |
DRESS
CODE
Just like sports, dance
has a uniform. It is important that students
come to class dressed appropriately and ready to
dance. The Dance Corner enforces the following
dress code for all classes.
Girls
Twinkle Star/
Baby & Kindergarten classes:
All girls must wear a pink leotard and pink
tights.
Chiffon dance skirts are
allowed, but no tutus please.
1st Grade & Up
Ballet classes: All girls must wear a black
leotard and pink tights.
Skirts are discouraged
and Tutus are not allowed.
1st Grade & Up Jazz,
Tap, Combo Classes, Irish Step, Modern, Hip Hop
& Lyrical classes:
Students may wear any
solid color leotard with Pink, black or Tan
tights.
Black, fitted dance
shorts or black jazz pants will be allowed only
by instructor approval. Solid colored, fitted
tank tops will only be allowed in 6th grade
& Up classes by instructor approval.
Some Hip Hop classes allow fitted T-Shirts, only
by instructor approval.
Hair must be pulled up,
away from the face in a ponytail, bun or braid.
Students with shorter hair should wear barrettes
or a headband to keep hair out of
face.
No
sweatpants, pajama pants, baggy shorts, t-shirts
or other baggy clothing will be allowed in girls
dance classes. Please avoid hanging jewelry and
watches as well.
Boys
All Classes:
shorts/sweats and t-shirt. White t-shirts
and dark colored shorts or pants are preferred
for boys in ballet classes.
Jeans are not
appropriate dancewear for girls or
boys.
Students who are not
properly dressed for class will not be allowed
to participate.
Please respect the dress
code.

Dance Corner carries Revolution brand dancewear
and shoes. Revolution's quality cotton/ spandex
leotards are seamless, tagless, extremely
comfortable and reasonably priced. Several
styles are
available in both child and adult
sizes.
Revolution's tights are comfortable
and high quality! They won't stretch out and
begin to bag. Miss Carrie gave these tights out
with most recital costumes last spring and the
reviews from the dancers were great!
Also on
sale are wrap chiffon ballet skirts in child and
adult sizes as well as pull-on, elastic
waistband chiffon skirts in child sizes. Fitted
black dance shorts, jazz pants and capri dance
pants that meet are dress code requirements are
also on sale.
Don't spend valuable time going
out of your way to dance shops to buy dancewear
for your child when you can get everything you
need at The Dance Corner. Our prices are 15-20%
below retail shop prices!

Tuition
Payments
Monthly
Tuition bills are due upon receipt. Payments can
be mailed to the studio or left in the "Check
Box" in the main lobby waiting area.
A $10 late fee will be
applied to any monthly or semi-annual payments
not received by the 15th of the month. Also,
there is a $25 charge for returned checks. The
Dance Corner accepts Visa, Mastercard and
Discover, allowing you to have your tuition bill
paid automatically each month. See Miss Carrie
