Summer classes at The Dance Corner provide students of all levels an opportunity to improve their technique, refine their skills and explore new areas of dance.  Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Irish Step, Modern Dance and Pointe will be explored.  New and returning students welcome!

Musical Theatre Audition Workshop with Amy Forbes
3- night Workshop for ages 13 - adult
Monday, August 2nd- Wednesday, August 4th
6:30-8:30PM
Have you ever left an audition wondering "What happened in there?" Perhaps you're thinking of auditioning for a musical and you're not sure how to start. Or, you simply need a song that's right for you.
Join Amy Forbes, actor, singer, educator, for an audition workshop this summer at The Dance Corner. Over the course of three evenings you'll learn the basics of auditioning for musical theatre. It is an art form in its own right. Just a few points we'll cover are song choice, entering and leaving the room,  working with the accompanist, focus and song interpretation. By the third night you'll be prepared for your next audition, with a song that's just right for you.

Kung Fu Dance for ages 7- 17!

6:15-7:30PM- Teen class, ages 12 & up
Kick, punch and dance your way to fitness and fun this summer with this innovative program found only at The Dance Corner is taught by the program creator, Apollo Smile. Kung Fu Dance is a high energy mix of martial arts and hip hop dance for boys and girls.

Students will learn how to use foam nunchuks and kick and punch combinations. Along with the Kung Fu, students will perform basic hip hop and jazz movements along with some tumbling and acrobatics. No special equipment is necessary, just come ready to have fun!

Instructor, Apollo Smile has over 30 years of dance training as well as experience as a martial artist. She has danced with the Alvin Ailey Repertory Ensemble and worked as a stuntwoman in numerous film and television shows.

PARENT-CHILD YOGA
Come out and try a FUN FAMILY FITNESS program at The Dance Corner. Increase flexibilty and strength while spending quality time together. Both you and your child will learn self reflection and develop the tools to help manage stress and cultivate a peaceful state of mind and body. Moms or Dads are welcome to attend with one child age 5-9 years.

Dance Performance Workshop
for students entering 5th- 12th grade, 6/14-6/16, 5:30-8:30PM
This special June session is designed to give dancers a 3-day immersion in all forms of dance with a focus on technique and performance, quality and style. Over the course of the three-day session students will fine tune their skills in Tap, Jazz and Ballet, and be introduced to new disciplines such as Modern Dance, Broadway Jazz, Hip Hop and Lyrical. Students interested in auditioning for the 2010-2011 Dance Company are strongly urged to attend this workshop. Material covered in the workshop will be included in the Company auditions on June 17th.

Fairy Tale Dance Days for 4- 6 year olds
These theme based classes teach a love of dance and performing arts through creative play. Dancers will dance along with their favorite stories and create related crafts. Each fun-filled session consists of 45 minutes of dance and movement, story and craft time. Register for one or all Storybook Dance Days! 10AM-11:30AM, $24/session

Hip Hop Boot Camp
Tues, Wed & Thurs, 7/20- 7/22

This camp will take you through the paces! You will learn the hottest moves seen on today’s music videos and movies. Be prepared to sweat while you learn the latest and greatest urban styles! Tuition: $46

Broadway Dance Intensive
Tues, Wed & Thurs, 7/20- 7/22
5:30- 6:45PM ages 8-11
7:00-8:15PM ages 12 & up
A look at Broadway dance from the audition to the performance. Students will have fun learning about character, stage presence, and the history of several Broadway shows, culminating in a final studio performance the last evening of the workshop.

Summer Dance Camps
Along with a full session of evening dance classes, The Dance Corner also offers exciting summer day camps for all ages. Our camps incorporate movement with crafts and theatre arts to excite and entertain students. Campers will explore the joy of music, movement and self-expression in a nurturing and safe environment. Camp Tuition includes all craft supplies. Students should come dressed in clothing that they can move in freely. Campers should bring a bag lunch or snack and beverage with them each day.

V.I.P. (Very Important Princesses) Camp for 5-7 year olds
7/6- 7/8, 10AM-12PM
Be a ballerina princess for a few days! Campers will learn basic ballet steps and dance to all their favorites from The Little Mermaid, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. They will decorate wands and crowns and have fun creating their own “Princess” costumes, complete with hair and make-up! The V.I.P.’s will perform a special dance number for family and friends on the last day of camp.

Petite Princess Camp for 2 ½- 4 year olds
7/13-7/15, 10AM- 11:30AM
Our Petite Princess Camp is for little princesses not quite old enough for the V.I.P. Camp. Campers will immerse themselves in a magical fairy land of ballerina princesses with stories, crafts, dress up, music and dance. Every moment will be filled with games, crafts and fairytale enchantment. Princesses will perform a special dance for family and friends on the last day of camp.
Tuition: $62

Broadway Bound Theatre Arts Camp for 8-12 year olds
7/19- 7/22, 10AM- 1:00PM
Discover the joy, fun and creativity of dance and drama. A fantastic experience for boys and girls to dance, move and create in a nurturing, fun, and safe environment. Campers will experience a variety of dance styles and explore different aspects of theatre performance and production while working together to create a short play. This 4-day camp includes daily classes in a variety of dance styles including ballet and jazz as well as many other fun activities. Daily craft projects creating scenery, props and costume pieces will serve as an introduction to theatre and dance production. Each camp will culminate in a performance for family and friends on the final day.
Tuition: $96

Buy a Summer Dance card for $80 and attend any 6 classes you want during our summer session. Summer dance cards are a flexible way to keep you dancing over the summer without committing to a regular weekly class. Any member of your household can use the Summer Dance Card. Cards are valid from June 22nd - July 15th.

Cards are non-refundable and non-transferable (beyond immediate family members). Cards valid for Summer Session classes only. Not valid for camps or workshops including,, Fairy Tale Dance Days, Dance Performance Workshop , Hip Hop Boot Camp or Broadway Dance Intensive. No Discounts on Dance Cards.

The Dance Corner, LLC reserves the right to cancel classes or camps due to lack of enrollment.

Refunds will not be granted due to student withdrawal from summer session classes or camps . Students who withdraw more than 14 days before the class or camp start date will be issued a studio credit.  Credits and refunds will not be issued to students who withdraw less than 14 days before the class or camp start date.
Tuition refunds will be granted only in the event that The Dance Corner, LLC cancels classes or camps.
