Carrie Smith
Carrie Smith has been teaching dance throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts for over 10 years and is a qualified member of Dance Educators of America. She graduated from Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Natick, MA and earned her B.A. in dance performance and choreography from Connecticut College, where she studied with such notable teachers as Peggy Lyman, Sara Rudner, Jaclyn Villamil, David Dorfman, and Dan Waggoner. Carrie spent her college semester abroad studying modern dance and Caribbean folk dance at the School of the National Dance Theatre of Jamaica. She has danced with the National Youth Ballet and performed in world premiere choreography by Doug Nielsen and at the American College Dance Festival. Carrie spent several years as the Assistant Production Manager at Goodspeed Musicals in East Haddam and currently holds the position of Personnel Coordinator at Hartford Stage. Miss Carrie looks forward to sharing her love of dance with the students of The Dance Corner for many years to come.
